southern california is hub for some of the best ocean, beaches and swell arguably in the all of the world. this easy living, ocean connected culture attracts visitors from all over, many who never leave. salty hair, suntanned skin and a vagabond-like way of living line every coast. not only do san diego swell chasers live to catching a good wave, but they are passionate about protecting their playground.
with over seventy miles of coastline, surfrider san diego is one of the largest and most active chapters in the world. this non-profit organization mostly ran by volunteers has nine major programs that focus on increasing awareness, education and calling the community to action with the big blue abyss top of mind. the no border sewage committee is filled with members who not only care about the san diego beaches but equally the coasts that touch. because of this, they’ve teamed up with the surfrider baja chapter and created the first bi-national surf content. this fun and friendly contest is open to all ages + skill levels.
come head down to the border with us to cheer on our san diego surf amigos and high five our baja homies competing on the other side as they showcase their best shredding skills to protect our oceans, waves and beaches.
whether your hanging back on the shore or hanging ten in the lineup, here’s the scoop to get you all set.
