BY ALOHA FOR PEOPLE
The guys at Aloha for People are not kidding when they say their shirts are threaded with purpose. They believe in doing good both locally and globally, manufacturing everything in their home state California with hand-woven fabrics from Guatemala. Not only are they creating jobs for men and women in their countries of operation, but aware of the poverty crisis in Guatemala (54% of the population there lives in poverty) they also provide a Guatemalan child with clean water for two years when you buy an Aloha shirt. So yes, we LOVE these shirts because they are a beautiful and a stylish addition to our closets, but when we get to know their inner beauty, the love and kindness they are made with, that just makes us want them much much more.
BY FLOR DE OLAS
When we met Aubriele Rowe, the designer and solopreneur behind Flor de Olas, we knew we weren’t just meeting yet another bikini designer. As a surfer, her contagious passion for the waves was what led her to start hand making custom bikinis for herself and her friends. Everything she designs is inspired by the places she has traveled through and by the active SoCal women who spend more than half their lives in a bikini. And true, we could spend days on end in one of her suits. Her range offers a fit for every body and most of her styles are reversible. Flor de Olas is manufactured with a lot of love and dedication between Los Angeles and San Diego.
BY RAW ELEMENTS
This stuff is stacked up with certifications, safe for your skin and the playgrounds you swim, hike, pack, lay, in. Not only do they consider the safety of the living beings it comes in contact with, but they’re making changes in their packaging to be reusable + plastic free, which to us earns them extra enviro-points. For me, personally, the search is over. I had been struggling for years trying to find a sunscreen that wouldn’t make my skin break out; after a day of trying Raw Elements, I was hooked. From the silky creamy touch of the product to its long lasting effect and quality water performance, my perception of sunscreen has been forever transformed. Try it and you won’t feel like you are sacrificing any part of your health or the environment’s to stay protected from the sun.
