IT WAS SUMMER AND EVERYTHING WAS COLORFUL AND VIBRANT.
I’m a bit of a foodie. One of the first things I do even before I pack for a trip is looking up a tasty place to visit as soon as I arrive at anywhere my travels take me.
Ever since I watched an episode of Chef’s Table about Chef Dan Barber and his sustainable farm, Blue Hill at Stone Barn in upstate New York, it’s been on my bucket list. When I made plans to travel to New York City back in July, the farm seemed like the perfect way to escape the noise of the city and get outside the grind. I had never gone to NYC and not stayed in the city before, so this seemed like a great decision.
And it was.
Blue Hill Farm is a fully operational four-season farm offering many exciting options of things to do while on site.
That day we were able to collect fresh eggs and weed dahlias. Pluck fresh strawberries from the vines and make delicious pesto with hand-picked basil. On site, we discovered a cafe that offering fresh rotisserie chicken, seasonal salads, and decadent pastries. We chose the Chocolate Babka cake.
All I have to say is WOW – I wish I could have this daily!
