Tell us about what you do?
As a guide runner, you have to understand your role. Going into it, you have to realize that you’re second fiddle. The car passenger. Robin to Batman. Vice president. The co-pilot. It’s a really selfless role. Track and field is such an individual/selfish sport, but I absolutely love it. Of course, I have dreams and goals for myself but in guide running, I believe I’ve found my purpose and calling and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
It’s not every day you get the chance to help someone, in this sport, realize and achieve their dream. Being the eyes and getting to be a part of that is something special.
Who or what inspires you?
My parents, Kobe Bryant, and anyone that’s ever been told they can’t or couldn’t do something and succeeded anyway.
What’s one thing that everyone should know?
Life: It’s not all about you. We’ve all been given gifts and abilities to benefit and enrich the lives of each other so live generously.
Last meal on Earth?
A medium rare burger with avocado, garlic truffle fries + a Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout.
Words you live by?
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
“Laugh a lot! It’s fun!”
“Chill dude, it’s not that serious.”
“I hated every minute training, but I said ‘Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion. – Muhammad Ali”
