When Stranded on Land was just a concept, all I knew was that I wanted a way and a place to house all the things I love. I dreamed of merging beautiful design, conscious products, services and brands with my passion for travel + the outdoors. A way to inspire people to get out of comfort zones + to be empowered to follow their passions.
I am not an artist. Nor a designer. But, I love beautiful design and the stories tied to the creation. The heart and soul that is poured into each piece. The love that is shared when given and received. By no coincidence, my digital path crossed Adam’s and everything I envisioned came true.
We’ve gone back and forth for nearly a year on email, Instagram and calls, getting to know the roots of Stranded on Land and Adam Vicarel as a designer. The more I got to know Adam, the more I knew he was the one to create this design. Adam is cut from the same cloth, beating to the same drum + chasing similar dreams. Living a life “pursuing balance” and making travel + the outdoors a part of the routine, not an escape from it. Check out his Get Profiled Q + A to get a feel for the man behind the letters and if you feel inspired and moved by this beautiful piece grab one from our Big Cartel shop for yourself, or gift one to a friend who inspires you.
Adam, thank you for bringing this vision to life, for chasing your passions fearlessly and for being you. Keep pushing, keep inspiring + welcome to the Tribe.

Some Stories Inspire is a reminder to share your big wins + celebrate the small ones. To live a life filled with passion, chasing your dreams + doing what you love. A permission to tell these often, because you never know who’s listening, who’s watching or who your words will give the wings to fly. This collaborative handlettering placed oh-so-perfectly on a map is the sweetest merger of travel, the outdoors + the heart and soul of what feeds both Adam + Stranded on Land separately.
$5 of each poster sold will be donated to The Ed Keating Center in honor of Adam’s cousin Cory who sparked his interest in the outdoors + inspired a way of living filled with love.
